IRS Resources

Owning your own business is not the easiest venture. It is more of an AD-venture when you really look at it. Always, there is something that needs to be done, clients to tend to and bills to pay. But with all of the items that require attention, your taxes should be at the top of that list this time of year.

The IRS, offers “little helpers”, keeping you on task for deadline filings.  A useful calendar with details for form filings and requirements can be located here. Planning ahead and organizing your accounting is helpful, too. At the end of the year, having all receipts logged, allocated and accounted for will help your tax advisor with their job if there is allot of detail. And, if required, filing an extension is not necessarily a bad thing as long as your taxes are filed by the extended deadline.

Being prepared is the key. Having a plan with your bookkeeper or tax specialist will help with the stress of impending deadlines to the Internal Revenue Service. A small business or incorporated business can take specific deductions; talk with your tax preparer to see what you are eligible for.
